Retirement process
Once returned to CDL, all items of equipment (excluding minor peripherals) are bar-coded and allocated a unique CDL reference number for future asset tracking. Equipment is then visually inspected and categorised for either disposal or remarketing. Equipment allocated for remarketing is then subjected to a functionality test and graded depending on condition.
A comprehensive asset report is then produced, providing the customer with a future audit trail. This report is then forwarded to the customer by e-mail and also in hard copy format.
All hard drives are either shredded or data-erased with all company references and security markings removed from equipment. In the event that security markings cannot be removed, equipment will automatically be forwarded for disposal.
